WebNov 15, 2014 · Posted August 26, 2014. Received a letter from BMW today explaining a "warranty coverage extension / repair expense reimbursement" for certain 2005-2013 BMW motorcycles. "12 year, unlimited mileage, from the date of the first retail sale or the date it was placed in service as a demonstrator or company motorcycle, whichever is earlier". WebFeb 13, 2024 · The NA rep indicated she was not aware of any contractual restriction that would prohibit recall/warranty work on one of their bikes, regardless of age or mileage. I know the BMW tech at that dealership and he is experienced with the fuel pump (and fuel strip) problem with Hexhead bikes.

Next time you fuel strip goes out just zap your old fuel strip with a piezo BBQ lighter and it will "weld" the broken substrate in the sensor. I have done it on GS's and RT's for several bikes.

For that exact reason to avoid any strip fuel gauge issues in the future something achieve by installing to all k12 and k 13 the latest version of the k13.
