WebMar 31, 2024 · Mopars are known to be the worst for fitting cam bearings. Carefully install cam bearings, and install cam with assembly lube. If it is tight, turn it a 1/4 turn, remove the cam, and then scrape the high spots with a bearing scraper. The high spots will show up as darker spots on the bearing. As mentioned, use a bearing scraper or a purpose built reamer. This essentially turns the cam into a hone and opens them up enough. I did it on 2 of the bearings, and it did work. I took a picture of the bearing in the front, does it look ok to run on?

Now when I'm installing bearings I start with the rear and front, check with cam, install another , check and so on. This way you can find the offending bearing easily.
